ZOOMPH REWIND: A REVIEW BACK TO THE BEST SOCIAL MOMENTS FROM MARCH 15 – 21

This past week saw an outpour of engagement on social media from NFL announcements to amazing performances in women’s sports, Zoomph captured the excitement. If you missed it on our socials, here are the top highlights from March 15 to the 21!

NWSL Kickoff Weekend

The NWSL kickoff happened over the weekend and had some fantastic numbers on social media to start the season off high!

With Patrick and Brittany Mahomes on hand to watch KC Current kick off the season, the club amassed the biggest numbers across the league on opening weekend.

Another good showing this weekend was Bay FC, who are competing in their inaugural season in the NWSL. One of three teams to reach over 100K engagements in week one brought them to third overall.

Overall, the NWSL experienced an increase in impressions and engagement compared to previous years with 84% more impressions and 105% more engagements.

The signing of wide receiver free-agent Mike Williams by the Jets gained huge amounts of attention when a fan sent a local breakfast sandwich to him at the Jets facility. The Jets social media saw 55.2 million impressions, 609,000 engagements, and $950,000 in social value. Talk about capturing a moment!

Caitlin Clark Effect

Iowa’s Women’s Basketball team emerged as the top college team on social media this week when Caitlin Clark broke the all-time NCAA scoring record for both men’s and women’s. Clark’s senior season has been nothing short of historic and helped Iowa have a fantastic year on social media with her classic moments and energy, with the program’s account finishing the year with 533 million impressions, 14.9 million engagements, and $14.2 million in social value. With Caitlin Clark creating history, anticipation builds for Iowa’s performance in March Madness to be a top contender on social media.

NFL Movement Season

The new NFL year kicked off this week as well with free agents and trades causing movement around the league, generating massive news and reactions from fans.

So far this offseason, the NFL has reached over 2.1 million engagements and 318 million impressions after many notable players were traded to different teams. Notable trade and signing announcements that saw massive engagement included Derrick Henry to the Ravens, Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans, and D’Andre Swift to the Chicago Bears.
