Zoomph and PWHL Team Up with NCSAC to Power Sports Analytics Showdown

The future of sports analytics takes center stage this February as Zoomph, the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), and the National Collegiate Sports Analytics Championship (NCSAC) join forces to inspire the next generation of analytics talent.

Held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN, on February 18-19, 2025, the NCSAC invites students from colleges and universities across the United States to showcase their analytical talents.

With divisions for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as a new network challenge, the NCSAC Analytics Showdown offers students a real-world challenge: analyze complex social media data from the PWHL, provided by Zoomph.

Students will deliver a five-minute presentation that is evaluated by a panel of industry professionals, including Zoomph’s own Director of Insights, Geoff Blosat.

“We at Zoomph are so excited to continue working with the NCSAC and PWHL to help grow the sports analytics industry,” said Blosat.

“Having worked with the NCSAC for the last couple of years now and getting to see the incredible work done by the leaders of tomorrow, I’m so excited for the future of our industry, and getting to play a role in that is an honor and privilege.”

Participants will be judged on statistical analysis, data visualization, actionable insights, communication skills, and integrity.

This year’s partnership highlights the continued rise of women’s sports, aligning perfectly with one of Zoomph’s missions. Amir Zonozi, CEO & Co-founder of Zoomph, shared:

“This collaboration isn’t just about crunching numbers – it’s about shining a spotlight on the undeniable rise of women’s sports and giving students the tools to tell stories that matter,” said Zonozi.

“The PWHL’s game-changing energy aligns perfectly with our mission to keep pushing boundaries and driving real impact through data. Together, we’re not just tracking trends – we’re shaping the future of the game.”

Dr. Kirk Wakefield, Executive Director of Baylor University’s Center for Sales Strategy in Sports & Entertainment (S3E), emphasized the event’s integrity-driven approach:

“Instilling integrity in the process is central to the NCSAC, as each individual student independently faces the challenge of analyzing data to determine insights to present to professionals. We are thankful to Zoomph and The PWHL in providing the data that highlights the opportunities provided by the growth in the business of women’s sports.”
