02 Jul Meet the Team: Geoffrey Blosat, Senior Director of Insight
At Zoomph, we know that innovation starts with people. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight the talented minds that help define our mission and support your goals. Our “Meet the Team” Q&A series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the people driving our success, highlighting their skills, insights, and unique perspectives. Get to know the people that shape our culture and power Zoomph.
Starting simple, give us your backstory and how you’ve gotten to your place today at Zoomph.
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!), where I got my degree in International Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I started my career working in the marketing agency space in both content management and SEO. In 2015, I started my sports career with the Washington Commanders as a digital analyst. Outside of work, I’m married and have two fur babies.
What is your favorite part about working at Zoomph?
The subject matter we deal with. I know I’m lucky to be able to say I work with major sports franchises, world-famous agencies, and Fortune 500 companies on a regular basis, being able to break down data in the sports world. The work I do combines what I’m good at and something I’m passionate about, and that’s really cool.
What does a day in your life at Zoomph look like?
While I might be a senior director, I am VERY hands-on with reporting for our customers. I spend most of every day working outside of the Zoomph platform, combing through customer data with a fine-tooth comb to create custom deliverables that go into great detail about the effectiveness of content campaigns, the sponsorship footprint a brand might have, or the viewership breakdown of the game on ESPN last night. Outside of that, it’s being open for my team and being willing to jump on Slacks or calls to respond to any questions or needs our other analysts might have.
What is a professional accomplishment that you are extremely proud of?
Crafting and curating a career path that was relatively new when I started. I was the first person to be a “Digital Analyst” at the Commanders. I was the first data analyst Zoomph ever hired. Being able to take my skills and make a career that has led to multiple other analysts joining the Zoomph team and being able to help them grow is amazing.
What is one goal you’re currently working towards professionally?
Being the best manager I can be. I’m part of an incredible team of REALLY smart people who know how to tell some amazing stories with data. I’m aiming to optimize my abilities there and make sure we are as fine-tuned as can be while still handling a consistent workload.
What is your favorite product function or tip you can share about Zoomph’s platform?
The level of granularity you can get with our API calls and exports. We collect so much information and store it in an easy-to-read way in the platform. However, for my team, our main job is to be the in-house “simulation” of the client. How would they present results to their executives? And as a result, we aim to go deeper to find and provide the best insights available. Zoomph makes it very easy to do that.
Why are you a believer in Zoomph and its product?
The people. Every meeting I take with others here is inspiring as everyone here is determined to find ways to win every day. I know we’re going to win and it’s because of the team here.
What are your favorite sports teams?
Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. Nothing but pride 365 days a year and nothing but sadness whenever the playoffs roll around.
What is your favorite movie?
Monty Python And The Holy Grail, the funniest movie I’ve ever seen, and one I feel I can quote word-for-word as it plays. Shout-out to my dad for showing it when I was probably too young to see it. Also, honorable mentions for A Goofy Movie, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and Dr. Strangelove.
What is a favorite hobby of yours?
I have a podcast! It’s called You Haven’t Seen That?! My wife and I introduce one of our best friends to classic movies that he’s never seen before. Film-watching has become a big part of my life over the last 10 years or so (both new and old), and I love Letterboxd (my social network of choice).
