Meet the Team: Josh McNeely, Sales Director

At Zoomph, we know that innovation starts with people. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight the talented minds that help define our mission and support your goals. Our “Meet the Team” Q&A series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the people driving our success, highlighting their skills, insights, and unique perspectives. Get to know the people that shape our culture and power Zoomph.

Starting simple, give us your backstory and how you’ve gotten to your place today at Zoomph.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up in a family of musicians. Much to my parent’s surprise, all I wanted to do as a kid was play sports and I ended up playing college soccer at UC Santa Barbara. After UCSB, I was lucky enough to land a ‘dream job’ working for a sports agency called YMU Group, while also getting my master’s in sports management at Georgetown. In that role, I managed a roster of professional athletes here in the U.S. and Europe, negotiating their contracts and watching a ton of soccer. After five years in the agency world, I made the pivot into SaaS and was fortunate to join another sports-tech company called Greenfly, which eventually led me to Zoomph.

What is your favorite part about working at Zoomph?

It’s impossible to choose one thing, but I’m lucky to work in an industry I’m passionate about with a team that all work incredibly hard and selflessly. Whether it’s working to bring on a new client or solving a problem for an existing one, we work collaboratively and do whatever it takes to get things done. One of the best feelings is when clients I’ve worked with through the sales process reach out to express how happy they are with Zoomph and the impact our team has made.

What does a day in your life at Zoomph look like?

These days, most of my time is spent speaking with folks at sports properties, though I do work with a few of our brand & agency clients. Whether it’s a more casual conversation or a full walkthrough of Zoomph’s product, I’m constantly meeting with prospective clients about social, broadcast, and sports sponsorship measurement. If you’re reading this and we haven’t met, you’ll likely know I also spend some of my day emailing folks we don’t currently work with about why we should be working together!

What is a professional accomplishment that you are extremely proud of?

Bringing on the LA Galaxy as a Zoomph client shortly after I joined the team is a moment that sticks out. I spent my teenage years playing soccer in their youth academy and basically grew up at the stadium, so working with the front office over a decade later was an awesome, full-circle moment.

What is one goal you’re currently working towards professionally?

As a member of the sales team, I’m always working to bring on new clients but my over-arching goal day to day is continuous improvement. Whether it’s using AI to improve my own processes or staying on top of industry trends, I try to pick up something new every day that helps me do my job better.

What is your favorite product function or tip you can share about Zoomph’s platform?

There’s a lot to choose from, but I’d have to say our broadcast measurement capabilities. The team has built an amazing product that’s making noise across the industry and is being used by some of the largest teams, leagues, and brands across the U.S.

Why are you a believer in Zoomph and its product?

First and foremost, it’s the people. We have an amazing team that prioritizes what our client’s need and want in the product. Every new feature or capability is built based on client feedback and having the right people to make it happen.

What are your favorite sports teams?

Arsenal and the Lakers.

What is your most memorable sports moment?

Going to an Arsenal game at Emirates Stadium. The atmosphere at Premier League games is unbelievable.

What was your first music concert?

Shoutout mom! She plays violin in an orchestra in LA, so it was definitely one of hers as a young kid.
