The Wounded Warrior Project: Using the power of social media to help disabled veterans

The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs to severely injured service members during what is perhaps one of the most important times of their lives: the transition between active duty and civilian life.

And while many non-profit organizations use social media – after all, it’s essentially a free resource — to their advantage, few do it as well as the Wounded Warrior Project.

During the past few years, the Wounded Warrior Project’s strong social presence has been responsible for significant fundraising efforts, as well as its ability to connect disabled veterans facing mental and physical challenges to vital resources.

So when we saw Wounded Warrior Project’s Online Engagement Manager, Jennifer Boyce, during our trip to CSMNY last month, we asked her to give us some insight into how non-profit organizations can use social media effectively.
