Ever since Facebook was created in a dorm back in 2004, the college experience has become synonymous with social media. So it makes sense that social media is the best place for faculty, staff, and administration to reach its students online. But with the proliferation of social networks, we wondered how universities were keeping up and which strategies they found effective.

We grabbed Claire Isgan from Carnegie Mellon at CSMNY and picked her brain. In the interview, Claire shares which social media platform CMU students are using to connect with the university. Hint: it’s not what you think.
