Press Release: Serial Entrepreneur and Former IBM Fellow Jeff Jonas Joins Board of Zoomph, Inc.

RESTON, Va., Sept. 20, 2016 — Zoomph, the most versatile, real-time social media suite for influencer marketing, announced it has appointed data industry veteran, and former IBM fellow and chief scientist of Context Computing, Jeff Jonas, to the company’s board of directors.

“We are honored to have Jeff join our board and look to his leadership and creativity to help drive our vision forward,” said Ali Reza Manouchehri, Zoomph CEO and cofounder. “We are continuing to add leadership to our board and executive ranks as we build out our world-class analytics for marketing science.”

Mr. Jonas, a pioneer in contextual analytics and sensemaking, founded Systems Research and Development (SRD) in 1984. Following two rounds of venture capital, SRD was acquired by IBM in 2005. SRD’s innovations intersected information sharing, non-obvious relationship awareness and real-time analytics.

One SRD innovation played a role in protecting the Las Vegas gaming industry from aggressive card-counting teams. Among them: the MIT blackjack team featured in Ben Mezrich’s bestseller “Bringing Down the House,” and the movie “21.” This work is also frequently documented by Discovery Channel, Learning Channel and Travel Channel.

Most recently, Jonas was profiled as a big data innovator in a National Geographic article, entitled “Decoding Jeff Jonas, Wizard of Big Data.”
