New Twitter Polling Features: Giving Your Brand a Voice

Low voter turnout. It’s a common source of headache for candidates and pollsters around this time of year.

But raise your hand if you’ve ever launched a poll and faced the same problem. Well, dear pollster, we’re here to make your life easier. Our Zoomph team has worked long and tirelessly to bring you our new polling features, designed to replace any outdated voting slogans, and to inspire organic excitement amongst your viewers through never-before-seen tools.

So without further ado, here they are:

1. Poll Display

How many times have we heard voters cry that their votes won’t make a difference? Get ready to prove them wrong at your next live event using our poll display, a living and breathing application that updates in real-time as individuals cast their votes throughout the day. Best of all? No refreshing is required to see updated scores.

You can keep track of the three main stages of polling– the question, progress, and results—and choose which slate appears on the display using our new Z-Mote.

FYI: The Z-Mote is accessible from your personal computer and allows you to remotely control the display screen with one simple click.

2. Poll Widget

In case you want to poll from home, we’ve created this sleek widget so that you can create and embed (via iframe or HTML) a poll on your website.

Voters can cast their votes in one of two ways:

1. Tweeting the hashtag and the handle, if required (see below).

2. Hovering over one of the pictures, clicking “vote,” and publishing the tweet that is automatically generated for them under their personal twitter handles.

You can further customize your poll using our “refined results” option, prompting users to include a handle with the proper hashtag so that the #BadBloodTswift tweets you see aren’t from all the Swifties in the world, but just the ones who are participating in your poll.

3. Retweet Widget

This one’s similar to the aforementioned poll widget, but has a twist. This embeddable poll allows you to display and receive votes through retweets.

poll3

The poll acts as a pin board for your tweets, which already live under YOUR handle, and lets voters see all their options without having to hunt them down on your account. (Your tweets – and poll, for that matter—therefore stay relevant for longer, since your poll prevents them from getting lost as you continue to tweet every week or every day, every hour or every minute…whichever floats your boat).

All voters need to do is hover over their favorite option and hit “vote by retweet” to repurpose your original tweet.

Are you feeling more optimistic about your next polling campaign? We hope so! We believe that polling should be a fun, headache-less experience for both you and your voters, and should excite all marketers wanting to reap these advantages from launching a poll:

Enjoy these features and keep an eye out for our next batch of updates! In the meantime, feel free to explore our other widgets, available with a free trial.

Happy polling!
