Elections 2016 Social Media Update: Rubio’s Surge Continues

We’ve been tracking social conversations about each candidate since August. The crowded republican field has seen its share of ups and downs. Last week’s debate on CNBC saw candidates unite against moderator’s questions.

Real-time data analyzed during the debate showed Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz surging.

As we’ve seen other candidates surge during previous debates only to fall in the days after, we analyzed data from this past weekend and compared it to weekly data from November 1 and October 25.

Rubio is the only candidate who’s share increased sequentially. For the first time since we started monitoring social media data about elections, Rubio is in second place. No wonder Donald Trump started firing off twitter attacks today, as reported by Politico.

We’ll continue to monitor the race to see if Rubio can maintain his momentum.
