5 New Year’s Bar Attractions That Are So 2015

It’s bar-eat-bar world out there right now.

Since New Year’s Eve is just a blink away, bars and nightclubs are dukeing it out to attract customers. But let’s face it. As party-goers, we all want to attend the newest, hottest, event around right? So with that in mind, here’s 5 must-have bar-games that will attract all of us to your party of the year:

1. Selfie Station

This is a sure-fire way to attract customers, as 93 million selfies are taken each day (on Android alone!). Include props and even silly costumes that add to the fun, (and will, undoubtedly encourage drink sales). And when you add a live social media display to the mix, you take the stale, old “photo-booth” idea to the more fun and modern generation.

BONUS: If your bar or party has its own #hashtag, you get untold exposure for your business every time someone posts their selfie to social.

2. Beat That Tweet

Doesn’t everyone (not-so) secretly want to have the bragging rights of being the most important person on social media? Tell your attendees to PROVE IT by gamifying their skills with a social leaderboard that measures influence. People can track their rankings at in real-time, all for the prize of being your bar’s year-long social king or queen. #hellyeah.

3. Social Celebrity Look-Alike

From PewdiePie to Jayden Smith there are a lot of crazy characters on social that we love (/hate?) . Costume parties are always a blast (source: everyone in the world), so set your business apart by throwing a contest for the best or most recognizable social media star. Who knows, maybe even an actual celebrity or two will show up to give your party the fame it deserves.

4. Loudest Social Noise

Have a sister bar, or an establishment you’re friendly with? Join forces to create a street-wide competition to see which place can create the most social noise before midnight. Alcohol tends to fuel the friendly competitive spirit, and all it takes is a geo-fencing tool to see the results in real-time.

BONUS: Promoting this concept and offering bar-wide prizes to the winning bar significantly increases interest, and is a great promotion to bring in pre-ticket sales for both establishments!

5. Like, Retweet, Double Tap

Ever heard of an angels and demons party? That’s where guests can come into a club in their best white or red attire, to instantly spark conversation with the people that are dressed alike. But of course, that’s SO 2014 (and therefore completely unacceptable; like something our parents would be into).

Now we know that social networks are what’s used  to keep close relationship ties, so your New Year’s Eve celebration needs a modern spin. Theme your party ‘Like, Retweet, Double Tap’, and encourage guests to dress up in the color of their favorite social site—creating insta-networking, IRL.
